Module 1: Basics of the Evolutionary Approach

This module is geared toward those with an interest in learning the basics of astrology. No previous experience is required. We will explore the archetypes of each planet and sign using the evolutionary approach, and begin interpreting the placements of planets within different signs.

Module 2:  Planets, Signs and Houses

This module focuses on bringing together the parts, as we begin to interpret planets in signs and houses.  We will also discuss the significance of houses, their meanings, and address technical aspects such as house cusps and house systems.

Module 3:  Introduction to Aspects

Aspects between planets in the natal chart add an important layer to interpretation.  This module illustrates how aspects to our personal planets and Ascendant give us more information as to how these planets function in our daily lives. 

Module 4:  Introduction to The Nodes - Part 1

The nodes are used in evolutionary astrology to offer insight into the past-life and karmic situation coming to bear on the present incarnation.  The awareness of the soul experience in the past, represented by the south node, and the “medicine” offered by the north node, offer an integral facet of evolutionary chart interpretation.  This Module and Module 8 are based upon Steven Forrest’s work as presented in his book, Yesterday’s Sky.

Module 5:  Introduction to Transits and Progressions

We will begin to look at the moving planets:  planets as they move through the natal chart by transit or by progression.  Each of these terms will be defined, and we will start with basic interpretation strategies.  We will also address how to prioritize the importance of transits for readings, and technical aspects such as identifying peak periods and ranges of influence.

Module 6:  Life Cycle Transits and Progressions

Some transits and progressions happen in predictable cycles.  For example, everyone undergoes their Saturn Return (Saturn’s return to it’s natal position) at approximately the same age.  We will discuss interpretations for the Saturn Return, the Progressed Lunar Return, the Pluto Square, the Uranus Opposition, and the Neptune Square, focusing upon the context provided by the age(s) at which they occur.

Module 7:  Introduction to Couples’ Charts

Bringing together two charts can be a daunting task when you are used to focusing on just one -- and there’s plenty to look at with only one!  We will go through a step-by-step, methodical approach to looking at Couples’ Charts.  We will look at both the synastry (intraspects between the individuals’ planets) and the composite chart (one chart which combines both charts).

Module 8:  Introduction to The Nodes - Part 2

In Module 4: Introduction to The Nodes Part 1, we began to look at the Nodes as they connect with the rest of the natal chart.  In Part 2, we will discuss aspects to the nodes, and techniques for crystallizing the emotional truth of the soul’s experience in the past.  This Module and Module 4 are based upon Steven Forrest’s work as presented in his book, Yesterday’s Sky.
